The theme of the 2016 Catholic Social Ministry Gathering takes inspiration from the encyclical Laudato 'Si, and Pope Francis' call for an integral ecology that connects justice for our sisters and brothers with care of all creation. We will also be marking the Jubilee Year of Mercy. From January 23 - 26, 2016 more than 500 Catholic leaders will gather to lift our voices in the public square, and to step forward in faith for justice, peace, and the common good. Join us!
The Catholic Social Ministry Gathering is organized by the Department of Justice, Peace and Human Development in collaboration with 4 other USCCB departments and 16 national Catholic organizations. This central gathering of Catholic social ministry leaders in the U.S. annually brings together hundreds of participants whose faith inspires them to respond to pressing current domestic and global challenges relating to poverty, war, injustice and the promotion of human life and dignity. Visit our CSMG Highlights page to learn more.
Each year the Catholic Social Ministry Gathering provides and excellent opportunity for Catholic leaders to Connect, Learn, Pray and Advocate!
